The project staff is
grateful for the support received over the years from the direction and
personnel of the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore. We are indebted to three successive
Presidents and the members of their Boards: Dr. Urano Tafani, who selected the
pilot project as the Opera's first initiative for the celebrations of the cathedral's
VII centenary; Dr. Anna Mitrano, for the commitment to the completion of the
textual project and for welcoming collaboration and contributions from
distinguished new partners for the realization of the internet site; the
current President, Avv. Franco Lucchesi, for the support of enrichment of the
site with the images of the manuscripts and scholarly studies of the documentation.
A special mention is due
to the past Administrative secretary, Dr. Patrizio Osticresi, who followed the
initiative from its onset until his untimely death in 2010. His acumen,
imagination, passionate interest in the contents of the documentation and
friendly participation in all the challenges faced by the project in its long
history were always a precious source of comfort and encouragement.
